According to the Telegraph, all you need to do to increase your home value is convince Waitrose, the upmarket British grocery store, to open a location in your neighborhood:
Living near a Waitrose 'puts £38k on value of your home'
The claim is based on an analysis of Land Registry data by Lloyds Bank that established that postcodes with a Waitrose also had higher house prices. Of course, correlation does not imply causation. Waitrose probably seeks locations in areas with higher than average property values to be closer to its affluent customer base.
